What do you enjoy most about working at DIVCON?
The culture. DIVCON’s culture provides plenty of challenges for those who seek it with a team/family who encourages each other every step of the way.
If you had an alter ego, who would it be and what would your name be? Or, what is your spirit animal?
A salamander – According to funnytweeter.com, Salamanders are the most passive aggressive animal. You grab their tail and they’re like “have that one, I don’t even want it.”
What is an unknown talent of yours?
Sorcery and witchcraft, otherwise known as the ability to make the women in my household cry without even trying.
What is your favorite quote? Why?
“The only thing in construction that stays the same is that everything changes” and “we can always make it look worse” or “prove me wrong” I know you asked for my favorite but I just couldn’t decide. Why? Because they sum up what we do so well…
What is the most challenging project you have worked on? Why?
The most challenging project I have ever worked on is still in progress. My step dad had a 1967 21’ venture sailboat. When he passed away it became mine. This boat has not seen the water in over 30 years. While this project lacks physical or mental challenges, it is emotionally draining. This restoration was to be Jim and I’s project and I am constantly wanting to ask him for guidance along the way…
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Anything near or in the water… except fishing
Do you have a claim to fame?
Well, according to my wife, “I think I can walk on water”
Can you do a cartwheel?
Not even close, I can barely do a somersault
What is the most fun thing you have ever done? (not X rated)
A few years ago, I visited my brother who was a helicopter pilot in the army at the time. He arranged for me to fly the Chinook helicopter simulator at fort Campbell. After crashing twice and getting shot down, I was able the land on an aircraft carrier in Lake Mead.
